The Santa Cruz Recycled Art Program (SCRAP) offers selected artists 16-week access to the waste stream at the City’s Resource Recovery Facility plus free access to tools and equipment at Idea FabLabs Santa Cruz, in order to make art from gleaned refuse and recycled materials. School tours and public open houses will be scheduled in order to educate the community about the realities of our consumption practices and a final gallery show will feature the works of art.
